This Privacy Policy describes how Sia Makerlab ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Star Reading: Horoscope AI mobile application (the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
The App does not require you to create an account. To personalize your readings, the App asks for your name (or a nickname), birth date and time, birth place, birth timezone, gender, and interests. This information is stored only on your device and is never sent to us in identifiable form (see Section 3).
The App stores the following data locally on your device only (Room database and DataStore):

This data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to it, and it is not stored on our servers. Saved records remain viewable offline.
To generate new content, the App sends requests to a stateless backend operated by Sia Makerlab (default https://star-reading-backend.codr.kr/, overridable in Settings → Advanced):
/v1/chart, /v1/horoscope/...): the App sends the birth and sign details needed to compute a chart or horoscope./v1/chat): your message is sent together with your Sun/Moon/Ascendant signs, interests, and latest reading, plus recent messages, so the assistant can answer in context.The server processes these requests to perform astrology calculations and AI generation and stores nothing — it does not retain your requests or responses and does not use them to train models. Standard operational logs (access time, errors, latency) may be collected for operations purposes only. If the network is unavailable, new generation and chat are not possible, but previously saved records remain readable offline.
The birth chart resolves your birth place to coordinates on-device using the Android Geocoder. The App does not request location permission and does not access your device's current location.
The App does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, or storage permissions.
We explicitly do not collect your name or birth details in identifiable form on our servers, your precise location, your contacts, or any data beyond what is described above.
Locally stored data is used solely to provide core functionality — generating and displaying readings, computing your birth chart, personalizing AI chat, restoring your history, and remembering your preferences. Data sent to our server is used only to compute the requested chart, horoscope, or chat response and is not retained.
The App uses the following third-party services, each of which may collect data according to its own privacy policy:

AI generation is metered with on-device daily credits (a number of free generations per day, reset at local midnight). When they run out, you may optionally watch an AdMob rewarded ad to receive more credits, up to a daily cap. When you purchase Remove Ads through Google Play, AdMob ads are disabled and AI generation becomes unlimited. The daily credit count is stored only on your device. Payment is handled by Google; the App does not collect your card or payment details.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the third-party services listed in Section 4, and only as needed to provide their respective functions.
Your birth information, readings, chart, and chat history remain on your device until you delete them. You can clear all local data from within the App's Settings, or by clearing the App's data in device settings or uninstalling the App. The Backup / Restore feature lets you export or import your local data as JSON (purchase entitlements excluded); exported files are stored wherever you choose and are your responsibility.
You can view and delete your locally stored data at any time. You can disable the daily reminder, switch language, and reset or disable ad personalization and your Advertising ID from Android device settings. Users in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have additional rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent). California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell personal information.
Google-provided services (AdMob, Play Billing, Play Integrity) may process data through Google's global infrastructure, which may involve transfers outside your country. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Your personal birth data is stored only on your device. There is no cloud synchronization operated by us and no user accounts or authentication data stored by us. Requests to our server are transmitted over HTTPS.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Astrology readings and AI-generated content are provided for entertainment and personal-reflection purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice and should not be relied upon for medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other important decisions.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, displaying a notice within the App.
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. For EU users, it shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable EU law including the GDPR.

This Privacy Policy is available in English. If translated versions are provided, the English version shall prevail in case of any discrepancy.
